Principal's Message
Dear Parents and Visitors:
Wow! The 2009-2010 has gone by so fast! I would like to take this opportunity to thank the parents, students and other community members for all of their support and hard work this year. I truly believe that the students at ASE are ready to move into their next grade knowing they have been prepared academically as well as in character. I am proud of them all!
The students have been given a reading challenge this summer. We have entered a contest through Scholastic called Read for The World Record. Students are challenged to read for 15 minutes each day over the summer vacation. If we break the world record of number of minutes read in a summer, we may get our picture in the Book of World Records. The students were given an incentive to accomplish this goal. So, grab a good book and read for the record!
Teachers will be trained in the Olweus Bullying Prevention Program in the Fall. Our kick off to that program is scheduled for October. We are all excited and dedicated to implement this program within our school community. We have many fun activities planned to get us started.
Thank you all for a wonderful 2009-2010 school year. I feel confident in saying that our students have made positive gains in academic progress and citizenship. Have a safe and happy summer vacation.
Please notify our office with questions and/or concerns at (814) 683-5755. Our office is open from 8:00AM-3:30PM daily over the summer break.
Sincerely,
Susan Uzelac
