Dear Parents and Visitors:
As we transition into the second semester, there are a few important dates I would like to make you aware of. Our March Madness assembly is being planned. We will send information home with students as soon as we finalize a date. PSSA testing will take place during the month of April. Our students in grades 3-6 will be taking the math and reading tests the week of April 7th-16th. Fifth grade will be taking the PSSA writing test the week of April 19th-23rd. Fourth grade will be taking the Science test the week of 26th-30th. Please encourage your child to get a good night's rest and a healthy breakfast.
Our PTO meetings are scheduled for the second Tuesday of each month. It would be great to see you there. Alice Schafer is beginning Market Day at our school. The students are kicking off the sales with an additional sale of pies for the month of March. Mr. Greenawalt will take a pie in the face of the 5 top sellers. Way to go, Mr. Greenawalt!
The students and staff at ASE have been collecting food, cleaning supplies and other items to benefit needy animals in our area. Students will be delivering the items at the end of this month. There is also a Haiti Relief fund at our school. Our students and staff were encouraged to donate 100 pennies on our hundredth day of school to help those in need in Haiti. The contributions were overwhelming. Thank you to all!
Please remember that even though we may have spring fever, students will need to wear the proper clothing out at recess. The nurse is more than willing to loan clothing out when needed, but we need your help in reminding students to bring the appropriate attire to school during the coming weeks of cold weather.
Please notify our office with questions and/or concerns at (814) 683-5755.
Sincerely,
Susan Uzelac
Principal
